Her commentary addresses three recent CJEU judgments related to EU environmental law:In case C-683/20, the Court had the opportunity to point out/highlight the importance of the assessment and management of environmental noise, whereas in case C-251/32 it was called upon to identify the equilibrium point between environmental protection and competition law. In its third judgment, issued on case C-43/21, the CJEU was challenged to clarify the concept of “substantial change” of a landfill installation, within the scope of the Directive on industrial emissions, from a permitting point of view.
