We are truly proud for our associate, Ariti Tsoukala, whose short commentary on three recent, particularly interesting decisions of the CJEU in the field of environmental law, was included in the new issue of NOMIKI BIBLIOTHIKI ‘s journal "Environment and Law" (Περιβάλλον και Δίκαιο).
In C-633/21, Commission v. Greece, the Court condemned the country for breaching its obligations derived from EU law on air quality. In C-61/21, Ministre de la Transition écologique et Premier ministre, it ruled on whether Directive 2008/50 on air quality directly confers rights on private individuals, while in C-525/20, Association France Nature Environnement, it clarified that a national provision establishing the prior authorisation of an intervention which will cause, even temporarily, a nuisance to the environment, without requiring an ad hoc previous assessment, contravenes the Directive 2000/60 on water protection.
