Five Law Students participating in the Moot Competition

Another year of The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition is in books and AKL is proud to have sponsored the team of Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and to have actively supported their efforts in the international John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition! In particular, the competition concerns International Commercial Law and was organized by ELSA International under the auspices of the World Trade Organization.

This year the competition revolved around the implementation of legislative hashtagreforms that promote the enforcement of border-adjust and tax carbon measures by States as a part of the effort to combat climate change and the issues they arise whether these legislations that regulate the market are in compliance with the WTO principles. The team was comprised of the undergraduate students Christos Papadogeorgos, Georgia Tsiakmaki, Alexandros Mailis and the postgraduate Fotini Rompora and was coached by Nikolaos Bourazelis and Irene Maniati under the supervision of Assistant Professor Anastasios Gourgourinis.

During the European Round, which was held in Cluj - Napoca, Romania from 22 - 25 April, the team presented the positions of both the applicant and defended states orally and managed to reach the Semifinals succeeding in the first four places earning many positive reviews!

We, at AKL, are always delighted to support young talent and wish them the best in their future endeavors!
